As long as I can remember, I have loved cars and sports. Since my athletic ability was not sky-rocketing me to the majors, the automotive industry is where I wanted to be.

Starting out in the automotive industry, the thrill of a big commission check and "top salesperson" awards kept me pretty content. Usually, content enough that I did not stop to ask a lot of questions about the mechanics behind the sale, and what it meant to my customers. Over time, I began to ask questions. The answers made me stop and think. The conclusions I drew were, at a minimum, frustrating.

My frustration grew as I realized that the industry was not only creating an environment that disadvantaged customers, it also disadvantaged salespeople. The "used car sales" stigma is deeply supported by the industry to encourage consumers to believe it is the person on the front line who is lacks scruples. While that is true in some cases, the whole industry is devised with a lack of transparency in an effort to push big money back to the dealers and auto makers. In fact, the system is designed to be so complicated that salespeople often cannot even determine what they have earned and whether they have been paid for it – with some regularity, they haven’t been.

In my 20+ years, I have found only one thing that is truly trust-worthy in the automotive industry and that is you, the customer. With a loving and supportive family, I am setting out to change the balance of power in the process of buying and selling cars. I hope you will join me.
